NOTABLE GUITARS IS PROUD TO BE YOUR BEST SOURCE
FOR MORGAN GUITARS!
Morgan Guitars
David
Iannone began his apprenticeship under
Jean Larrivee
in the early 1980's. Working at the Larrivee Guitar Company
fueled a passion that drove David to start Morgan Guitars. He
is a magnificent artisan, building superb guitars out of wood and steel
in the same way that a sculpter turns clay into beautiful works of
art. He is truly consumed by a passion to build the finest
quality steel-string acoustic guitars available today. If you
are familiar with Larrivee Guitars, you are halfway to understanding
Morgan Guitars. David builds a guitar that is certainly
influenced by Jean Larrivee, but on a much smaller scale of production,
and more handmade. He also offers a lot of options that you
can't get with Larrivee, such as Englemann Spruce, German Spruce, Swiss
Spruce, Cedar, and many, many others. They are superb
instruments, and the Concert "C" Florentine cutaway is breathtaking to
behold. You will not be disappointed with a Morgan
Guitar. He builds a very small number of very high quality
instruments each year. If you are lucky enough to own a
Morgan you are in a very small group of privileged players.
Morgan Guitars are played by a number of very special musicians such as
Sarah McLachlan,
Nickelback,
and Crash
Test Dummies.
See for yourself why Morgan Guitars are so highly respected, played,
and sought after.

Spruce Top

An
Awesome Custom Morgan!
I
have an incredible Masterclass Koa Concert Body on the way!
After I received the masterclass Walnut (which quickly sold), I called
David and asked if he had any wood in stock that was close to the look
and tone of that walnut. David informed me that he had two
sets of incredibly flamed Hawaiian koa that he had been saving for
years. He sent me pictures of the wood, and I was blown
away. Even without the finish, it was apparent that these
were going to be spectacular instruments. Hawaiian Koa is a
very highly regarded wood, and it is only available in
Hawaii. It is a protected wood, just like Brazilian
Rosewood. Due to the limited supply and the tight controls on
the harvesting of the logs, Koa is very hard to come by.
Masterclass koa like this is rarely seen today. You will pay
a significant premium for any koa wood today, and most builders don't
have any Koa of this quality. This is a spectacular Concert
body, and you will be very impressed. The Morgan Concert body
is very similar in size to the Larrivee L Body, with incredible
clarity. It is terrific for fingerstyle, but large enough to
be strummed and picked as well. I think the Morgan Concert
and Larrivee L Body are about the most versatile body styles
available. This incredible guitar is not equipped with
electronics, but I can add them if they buyer desires. Don't
wait too long, guitars of this quality never last long!.

Morgan
Custom Concert Body in Quilted Maple & Cedar Top! One of 3 2008
NAMM SHOW Guitars!
$4298.00 (CALL or Email For Actual Sale Price)
An
Awesome Custom Morgan!
When David created three custom Morgan Guitars to display at the 2008
NAMM Show in Anaheim I jumped at the chance to purchase these fine
instruments. The flagship is this Concert Body in incredible
Quilted Maple, with a superb Cedar top, with full abalone purfling, and
flame koa body binding. The quilted maple is incredibly 3D in
appearance. The tone is very crisp and rich, with great
complexity. This is the most beautiful quilted maple I have
ever seen.
David
describes it like this:
"This is only the second cedar/maple that I have
made. It is a great combination-warm rich tone, plays like a dream."

SHOW Guitars!
$3520.00 (CALL or Email For Actual Sale Price)
An
Awesome Custom Morgan!
This is the last of David's 3 2008 NAMM show display guitars.
It features very warm, crisp South American Mahogany back and sides, an
englemann spruce top, flame maple body binding, and a Florentine
cutaway. It is a wonderful guitar, and is great picked,
strummed, or when playing fingerstyle. The Concert is larger
than an OM, and slightly smaller than a dreadnaught. It will
play most any style with aplomb. |

Morgan Custom OM W/Masterclass
Hawaiian Koa Back & Sides & Englemann Spruce Top
$4298.00 (CALL or Email For Actual Sale Price)
An
Awesome Custom Morgan!
When
David told me he had two sets of incredible Hawaiian koa, I bought
both. I commissioned the Masterclass Concert body above, and
a more intimate Masterclass OM with Englemann spruce top.
They are both incredibly figured, and I should have them in the shop in
two to three weeks. David is an expert luthier, and has a way
of finding the best tonewoods. He has been saving this
masterclass Hawaiian Koa for years, and I am lucky he decided now was
the time to build some spectacular Koa guitars. This OM is
very beautiful, and has a very responsive Englemann spruce
top. Englemann and Koa is probably my favorite
combination. It tends to produce great clarity, a strong,
vibrant treble, and good low end response. It is outstanding
for fingerstyle and light to moderate flatpicking and
strumming. Hawaiian Koa is very scarce, and I doubt you will
find another guitar as beautiful as these two any time soon.
If you are in the market for a high-end guitar, you owe it to yourself
to see what a small hand-builder like David can do. He is
truly an artist, and his guitars will amaze you. This guitar
is less than the custom series from some of the big factory builders,
and I promise you will see and hear the difference. Don't
wait too long on the Masterclass Koa, they aren't going to be around
long!

Mint Pre-Owned Morgan OM with French
Walnut Back And Sides! Stunning! $3548.00
New, Buy It Now For Only $2299
This
is a superb pre-owned Morgan OM with incredible flamed french walnut
back and sides, and an Englemann spruce top. I called David
to ask him if he remembered this guitar, and he immediately responded
"Yes! I was able to get a couple of sets of really nice
French walnut, and I made a concert body and an OM. I believe
the OM had a very stiff Englemann spruce top, and it was
awesome". This Morgan OM is very resonant, with excellent
clarity, and great responsiveness. It excels at fingerstyle,
but has a very clean, crisp tone when picked as well. It is
incredibly beautiful, and the tone matches its' good looks.
It comes with a deluxe archtop case and all case candy. This
is a very rare and beautiful Morgan, and you can get it for a fraction
of the cost of new!

Morgan Custom Concert Body
W/Masterclass Claro WalnutBack & Sides & Englemann
Spruce Top
$3898.00 (CALL or Email For Actual Sale Price)
This
Masterclass Walnut Concert Body is one of the finest instruments I have
ever played. When David informed me that he had procured some
incredible flamed walnut, I was very excited. I knew it would
be special, but I had no idea it was going to be this
beautiful. This is by far the most highly figured walnut I
have ever seen. It is trimmed in very flamed Hawaiian Koa,
and it provides the icing on the cake!
Walnut has a tone that tends to be similar to mahogany, with perhaps a
touch more bass and transparency. it is very crisp, and very
pleasing to the ear. Masterclass walnut is very hard to come
by. World class luthiers have appreciated the tonal qualities
of walnut for quite some time, but the price has kept it from achieving
mass-market appeal, which is a good thing in my opinion. This
is a rare guitar, and you won't soon find another like it.
The Morgan Concert body is very similar in size to the Larrivee L Body,
with incredible clarity. It is terrific for fingerstyle, but
large enough to be strummed and picked as well. I think the
Morgan Concert and Larrivee L Body are about the most versatile body
styles available. This incredible guitar is not equipped with
electronics, but I can add them if they buyer desires. This
is a very toneful guitar, with great responsiveness. It is
very fun to play, and won't disappoint you.

Morgan OM with MasterClass Cocobolo
Back and Sides and Englemann Spruce
Top!
$3598.00 (CALL or Email For Actual Sale Price)
Cocobolo
has a tone that tends to be similar to rosewood, with a bit more bass
and crispness. it is very rich sounding, and very pleasing to
the ear. Masterclass Cocobolo is hard to come by, and very
hard to work with, so many luthiers choose not to use it.
This is a shame, because while it is more difficult to sand and finish,
the result is well worth it. I prefer Cocobolo over East
Indian Rosewood, and in my opinion only the best Brazilian is any
better. The top is mastergrade Englemann spruce, a wood many
builders do not offer due to the high cost. It is a very
beautiful wood, and has great responsiveness, especially for
fingerstyle. This is a rare guitar, and you won't soon find
another like this one. This Morgan OM is very responsive,
with incredible clarity. It is terrific for fingerstyle, but
can be strummed and picked as well. This incredible guitar is
not equipped with electronics, but I can add them if they buyer
desires. Another incredible Morgan!
